We've enclosed this section because not everyone understands what all the nerd jargon is relating to websites and how to get one online.
1 - Picking a website domain name.
Picking a great website name is a challenge to say the least. But not all of the great names are taken. Try and be creative. The trick is to find a name that isn't going to take ten minutes to type out while making it something easy for your customers to reflect upon your business with. 2 - Registering the website domain name.
This step we take care of for you. To register a name, we must file who owns the website with iCANN which oversee's the names used on the Internet. We register the name for 1 year Free. There is a minimal fee for each additional year. Usually less than ten bucks a year depending on the TLD (.com, .net, .org etc.)
3 - Set up website hosting.
Express Host Pro owns and operates it's own website servers. So this step is easier for us than most other design companies. What we do here is set up the space on our servers required to host your website. We then set up the e-mail addresses you require. And install special software you may require depending upon the design you choose.
4 - Set up DNS
What the heck is DNS? Basically, it's a network setting for the Internet that tells the World what server your website is on and how to find it. For addition information on what DNS is, click here.
5 - Design the website.
Ah... the fun stuff. The World is your canvas. Let us know what you like or dislike. Give us some ideas. And we can make your dream into a reality.
6 - Upload the finished website to the host.
We upload all of the files we created while making your website. Nothing too exciting here.
7 - Register the website with the search engines
We feel since you've spent the investment with us for your new website, the least we can do in return is help your website succeed. We will register your website with all major search engines for free.
8 - Promote, promote, promote!
This is the most important step. You have to let the World know you have a website. Outside of search engines, we can give you ideas on how to promote your website. DO NOT rely on the search engines making your website a huge success unless you have the money to invest in serious advertising with these search engines. For the most part, there are a few tricks we can use with the search engines.
